L’australiano ritiene che i cambiamenti più significativi apportati da Sinner a livello tecnico riguardano due colpi in particolare: “Non sono sorpreso dal livello a cui ha giocato nelle ultime due settimane della stagione, perché so quanto ama questo sport e come lavora. Ha imparato molto negli ultimi due anni, e il suo miglioramento è stato evidente anche in alcuni colpi, come ad esempio il rovescio tagliato e il diritto, che è uno dei più impressionanti che ho visto nella mia carriera”.
Cahill ha inoltre rivelato che non sarebbe sorpreso se Jannik Sinner decidesse di cambiare coach nel caso in cui si rendesse conto di aver bisogno di altro. “Da ora in poi so che è pronto a fare qualsiasi cosa per continuare a migliorare. Ha la volontà di fare aggiustamenti tecnici, tattici, nutrizionali e tutto ciò che gli può essere chiesto. Non mi stupirei se tra qualche anno capisse chi ha bisogno di qualcosa di diverso da me”, ha detto l’australiano. Infine ha concluso con una previsione: “So che avrà un enorme successo, indipendentemente dagli allenatori che lo accompagneranno”.
